Hand in Hand we journey together, guided by God

Swallow Class - Monday 6th June

Good Morning Swallows,

Welcome to a new week.  I wonder how you kept yourself busy this weekend.  I am writing this on a Friday hoping it stays dry for the weekend.  I’m having a concrete base laid in my garden for a greenhouse.  Therefore, I need to keep the rain, my cat, Tali and my tortoise, Bertie away from the concrete.  On Sunday, I am going to see a cat called Binky, whose owner has sadly passed away so he is looking for a new home.  I am hoping that his personality will suit my noisy cat, Talisker.  If he seems suitable, then I can collect him at the beginning of the summer holiday.  I very much hope that he might calm down my diva cat Tali!  Are you beginning to make plans for the holidays too?

Mathematics

If you have been completing the MyMaths fractions tasks each day you need to begin the new unit we are starting on place value.  Work through the lessons before you begin the homework activity.  If you find the task tricky go back and have another go to see if you can improve your mark.  We will begin the autumn term with place value so use these revision sessions as an opportunity to gain security with place value.

If you have been completing the daily maths challenges, please look at the attached maths problem cards.  These cover a mixture of units we have covered over the term so you may have to think back to previous maths lessons.  Please complete these questions over 2 days.  I would suggest working on questions 1-10 today.

Spelling

I jumped ahead of myself last week and set you week 2 instead of week 1 spellings! We will look at week 1 this week. The spelling focus is ‘polysyllabic words with unstressed vowels’ Please work through the PowerPoint for week 1.

Spanish

We have been learning the Spanish for different fruits and vegetables.  I have attached a PowerPoint with additional foods in Spanish.  Can you remember how to put the words into a sentence?  What other phrases could you research in Spanish that incorporate these words?
