St. Peter's Church of England Primary School

Hand in Hand we journey together, guided by God

SEND

At St Peter’s we believe every child is entitled to a broad, balanced and accessible curriculum, and to an education that enables them to achieve their best, grow in confidence and lead a fulfilling life.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice, applies to children and young people aged 0–25.  Its core aim is to identify needs early and provide effective support.  It places strong emphasis on involving children, parents and carers in decisions about provision and outcomes, and ensuring families know what services are available.

Our SEND Policy and Information Report is based on the statutory Code of Practice and related legislation, including the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014, which outline responsibilities for Education, Health and Care plans (EHCP), SEN Coordinators (SENCOs) and the SEND Information Report.

Pupils, parents and staff at St. Peter's work tirelessly in partnership to meet the needs of all learners.  While our website offers an overview, we value personal conversations and collaborative working to ensure the right support for each child.  Additional support is coordinated by our SENCO, Mr Jones, who alongside our Head of School, Mrs Hall, will be happy to help with any queries.  They can be contacted by emailing: senco@st-peters.school or the school office: office@st-peters.school.
