Meeting Point
This term, in Collective Worship, we have been reflecting on the theme of Community, so it was fitting that on Monday 24th November, our School Council, accompanied by myself, Ms Griffin, and Flapjack, ventured into the Ardingly community to join the ‘Meeting Point’ coffee morning at Hapstead Hall.
‘Meeting Point’ takes place twice a month and provides a wonderful opportunity for residents of all ages to meet and chat over tea, coffee, and cake. Our children shared some of their topic work and reading books, and confidently engaged in conversation.
One highlight was meeting a remarkable lady aged 100, who told the children how she had lived in Ardingly since the age of 14, after being evacuated from Romney Marshes at the start of the Second World War.
A huge thank you to the ‘Meeting Point’ team for their warm welcome and the delicious selection of cakes they provided - how many chocolate muffins did they manage?!
