Check Mate

Last week, selected players from our KS2 after school chess club went to compete at Ardingly Prep and The Bilingual School in  Hove for the first round of the Sussex Primary Cup, with fantastic results!

Jesse, Nazeef, Hector, Zac, and Mylo put up a great fight against Ardingly Prep and Great Walstead, finishing joint second with 5.5 points, just behind Ardingly on 7 points. Following this success, Clark, Patrick, Charles, and Dylan faced St Andrew’s in Hove and two teams from the host venue, Bilingual Primary. All schools played brilliantly, but St Peter’s came out victorious!  Out of a possible 12 points, our team scored an impressive 9 points, ahead of St Andrew’s with 8 points, and both Bilingual teams with 3.5 points each. The players are already looking forward to the second round next term!
