Basketball Festival

On Thursday 22nd January, a group of children from Robin Class thoroughly enjoyed an energetic morning developing their basketball skills. The session was led by coaches from Storm basketball club and sports leaders from Haywards Heath College. The group from St Peter’s, together with children from nine other local schools, began with a warm up which even included skipping backwards! The first activity focused on footwork and passing skills, before they moved onto a very challenging shooting practice challenge. Several children managed to score even though the hoops were very high! In the final activity, the children worked in pairs and learnt how to dribble with the ball using correct handling technique. As always, our children demonstrated the School Games values of Self Belief, Teamwork and Determination.
